Today was the awards banquet for the swim team. I was awarded 2 trophies, state certificate, letter and certificate of achievement. I am proud of this year's accomplishments. Robynn is such a great coach. She not only made a swimmer out of me, but a more dedicated person in everything I do. She sure takes alot of her time with the team. I can never appreciate her enough.

Robynn will not let me swim for a whole week! I think I'll either cheat or be miserable that week. I still have lifeguard training Tuesday and Thursday and Saturday. I'll swim 2 times those days and rest on the others. I must keep at it to be the best! I have a deep, desire that I must achieve. To be a state placer! 4th or better.

I want a time under 5:00 in 500 free and 1:50 in 200. I really shouldn't be disappointed in yesterday's performance but I am. I must improve 10 times more! With my muscles flexed, I close.

State Swimming Meet Results - 18 Feb 1989

I feel frustrated because maybe Kristen is winning and I'm not. I'm not jealous because she is in girls division of course. But.. Good Job! Very excited for her. In the Tribune on Sunday it said of her, "Among the other dual meet winners was Kristen Prier, a West High Freshman, who added the 100 yard freestyle to her 200 yard freestyle win Friday night. Her two medals are the first swimming gold medals ever won by the school. With three years to go, Prier could break the state record for this event, as her 54.68 seconds is only 1.5 seconds off the state record." Robynn was the record holder.

I am going for 4th place next year.

I took 12th overall in 500 free. I must keep in shape to get under 5:00 in 500. I got a 5:33. That is a new record for me.
