Just bought a Pelican Apex 130T DLX

Since we got our tax return I was planning on getting a kayak with some of the money so I could have someone with me as a backup when I start doing open water training. So I bought this double seated kayak from a guy in Orem who bought it last fall. I'm stoked. It's brand new and is just what I wanted. I'm excited for it to warm up now!

--------------

I just took Jacob over to Jensen park and went fishing with him using the kayak. It was fun. We didn't catch anything though and I didn't see anybody else who did either.

Ditto

Same workout as yesterday plus an extra 100 at the end:

1000 - 1000 Warmup
1000 - 2 x (100 Fly kick, 100 Free kick, 100 Fly kick on back, 100 Free kick on back, 100 Drill)
1000 - 10 x 100's free pull on 1:30 (on 1:15)
300 - 100 Breast, 100 Fast (1:07), 100 Free

3300 Yards total

The last two workouts have been surprisingly easy in that I'm not dead tired at the end which I would expect after having taken so much time off. I registered for the Deer Creek Open Water Swim (10K) on August 15th. I'm excited to do more open water training.

Someone stole my towel!

Didn't swim last night cause my swim suit was lost somewhere in the laundry so I ended up helping fold laundry. By the time I found them it was too late so I swam this morning.

1000 - 1000 Free warmup
1000 - 2 x (100 Fly Kick, 100 Free Kick, 100 Fly kick on back, 100 flutter kick on back, 100 Free touch and pull) first set with fins
1000 - 10 x 100's pull on 1:30 (Get all under 1:15)
200 - 100 EZ, 100 Fast (1:10)

3200 Yards total

When I got out I couldn't find my towel and I know I brought it. It wasn't in the car either. Someone nicked my towel! Doing the last in-water requirement of Swimming Merit Badge with the scout tonight. They have to get in with their clothes inflate them and float. Should be lots of fun!

Registered for Utah State Master Championships

This last weekend I signed up for the Utah State Championship meet on March 27 - 28th. I'm doing all the Freestyle events:

50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, 500 Free and 1650 Free

So in order to do better than my last meet I better get in the water and start doing some serious yardage. So I did that just before going to the dentist this morning. Although I didn't get the yards I wanted. The Layton pool was hot! It was probably 85 degrees. That is unusual.

1000 - 1000 Warmup - too warm!
1000 - 5 x 200 (2 x (25 br, 25 back), 100 Free)

2000 Yards total
