Apparently Eric is talking some trash to Elayna and she wants to make sure she is prepared for the Gridley Family Triathalon that is coming up in two weeks. Elayna wants Eric to really swallow her wake! I'm all for that! Eric has a big head and I'd love to see him and Russell both eat some humble pie.

I'm out of school for three weeks so I'm excited to get a break. However, I need to get ahead the first week so that my first week of vacation can be somewhat relaxing.

I had my ingrown toenails taken out on Friday and they were a little sore this morning on the kick set. I had a big paper due this weekend as well as home teaching and an Elder's Quorum lesson so it was kind of stressful, but looking forward to this weekend where I can relax a little. Today was difficult energywise as well as soreness. I lifted pretty dang hard with Brendon on Monday and also played Racquetball hard yesterday. Pretty sore and stiff. Stretching out helped a little, but energy level was low. Swimming was slow today. Busy as well. Every lane had at least two people in it for about a half hour. The Pool Director, Doyle has said it has never been this busy. Great, I come to a pool to get away from the crowd and they follow me!

I bought a new van this last week so I haven't been in the mood for swimming much. We went to the cabin this weekend with the kids and we had alot of fun. The pool at Northwest last Thursday was too busy for me to even get in, so I worked a deal out with Connie at Northwest where I can swim at Steiner West as if I were at Northwest. I should be getting a new pass tomorrow. Steiner's pool is so much better. The water is cooler, the lanes are wider, the people swim faster there and it is probably just as fast to get there as Northwest. Tomorrow my goal is to get back up to 1800 or 2000.

Busy pool today. I played raquetball yesterday at the Redwood Center with Dad and Eric. When I got home I couldn't find my wallet and realized that I must have dropped it on the way to my car. I called the Redwood Center and it hadn't been turned in. This morning after my workout I realized with the sun just coming up maybe noone saw it so I drove out there. It was there on the grass just as I suspected. What a blessing and an answer to a desperate prayer. I didn't have any money in it, just didn't want the hassle of getting replacement cards. Today's workout was pretty good. Didn't really push it too much though.

I had the best dream. I dreamt that a million aliens landed on earth close to a cabin where Carl and I were vacationing. We had all sorts of firearms upon which we used to defend ourselves against these beasts. They were a cross between Kangaroos and Giant Toads and some were a cross between Rhinocerous and Tyranasarous Rex's. They were huge and we were having a bloodbath. It reminded me of a Sci-Fi movie. I woke up at 5:30 in the middle of a battle. I wanted to go back to sleep, but ended up getting up for the beloved swim this morning. The pool was hotter than normal today!

Elayna said she didn't have much energy, and neither did I, but I still wanted to get in at least 1 mile. Need to stretch out my chest since lifting bench and flys yesterday for lunch. Today's lunch break will be spent at a meeting discussing quality so I won't be able to lift even if I wanted to. Lows are having a party tonight for Bill's Jr's Birthday. Fun to have a date with Cathi for free every once in a while.

Yesterday was President's day so we took the kids to the Bubble to swim. They had alot of fun. Talk about Deja Vu with Isaac in the pool. It reminded me of the days with Austin at Deseret Gym when he was just a little thing. We had alot of fun and Lucy totally enjoyed it. Afterwards we went to McDonald's for dinner. The kids had fun in the playland and I was losing my temper because it was crowded as Hell and the place was a total mess. I talked Cathi into letting me take Austin to Lord of the Rings - Return of the King. Austin and I had a good time and he enjoyed the movie. This morning was very difficult to drive to SLC for a workout but I did it. Here it is:

She swam 1600 yards. I had alot of fun swimming with her and also felt great to be able to swim this workout in about 1:05. I think I will come swimming with Cathi every other Saturday. We went to IHOP for breakfast beforehand so it was good to work off that omelet! I'm not as out of breath anymore in between sets. I think my body is already getting used to this. Yeah!

I set the alarm 5 minutes early (5:25) and that was the perfect setting. That allowed me not to rush and make it here on time. I noticed the showers at Northwest are awesome. They are very warm and have good pressure. I came up with this workout spontaneously. I was expecting Elayna to have her turn, but she didn't have one. I'll bring one from now on and we can modify it as necessary. Tomorrow is going to be only about 1000 yard workout though to give Elayna a little break. Both of us have gone from no swimming whatsoever to a mile a day. She admitted its getting tempting to stay in bed. I bought a year pass to Northwest so that isn't an option for me. I hope she keeps going. I know I feel tons better during the day, especially with a little Orange Juice to keep my mind active. Otherwise I get fatigued at work.

I lifted chest today at Northwest during Lunch. Bala has been a real slacker lately in the Ping Pong. So I haven't played for over a week. Oh well, too many sports and I won't be able to get good at any of them.

My favorite set was the 20x25's. The pool at Northwest is probably 90 degrees. Its very warm for a lap pool. We got a hose with cold water going into it and that sure makes a difference. I swam my guts out to get that 1:10 - 100 free. I sure am slow compared to the good old days. But hopefully I'll get faster and stronger. I didn't lift today - figured I'd let my body recover from yesterday.

Swimming with Elayna was fun. She was able to do this whole workout with me. I would have given up 1/2 way through the 4 x 100's if she wasn't with me. So I'm glad we are a team. This is a personal best as far as how far we have swam in a workout, since the Deseret Gym was destroyed. I feel like my lungs are already so much healthier. My arms are Jell-O though. I had to get up at 5:25 to get there in time. I was there early so tomorrow I will be getting up at 5:35 instead. Elayna will be coming up with the workout for tomorrow. I hope she doesn't get burned out with this. I'd like to get back into it. It also means I get home at a better time too because I go straight to work after this workout at Northwest. I'm at work at 7:30 which means I can play ping pong at lunch or lift for an hour and still get out of work by 4:30 so Cathi can run at 5.
