My DYST shirt came in the mail last night. Pretty amazed how big that facebook group is.
This morning I penciled this workout on a piece of paper in the SDRC parking lot before going in:
600 free warmup
4000 - 10 x 400's - 2 x (free/kick/IM/Drill/Pull)
400 - 4 x 100's free desc 1-4 on 1:40
1000 - 5 x 200's free/kick/IM/Drill/Pull
1000 - 2 x 500's Pull/Free Negative Split
750 - 3 (150 Easy/Fast/Easy by 50, 75 Kick/Drill/Kick by 25, 25 sprint)
300 - 6 x 50's strong on :45
1000 pull agility paddles with ankle band
450 - 9 x 50's desc 1-3 on :50
500 - 50 back/100 free/50 back/100 free/50 back/100 free/50 back
10,000 yards total in 2:38
It snowed last night pretty good. I'm really looking forward to tonight's cold swim in GSL Marina.

Update:
6pm: Just finished a solo swim out at the marina. The water temp was 49.2 f. I did three laps. Nobody was there and I didn't want to push it being unsafe so I passed up that 4th lap, but could have done it under proper observation. Started to feel muscles freeze up a little on that third lap. Recovery involved lots of shaking but no crazy finger/toe pain which is the worst part of the whole thing. Only 8 more degrees and the temp will be optimal for the ice mile.
Today's swim was a big boost to my confidence about my ability to do that ice mile. Granted 8 degrees colder is a HUGE difference. But still.....
This song came to my mind. "This ain't impossible, This ain't improbable."
